Frequently Asked Questions
What is permanent makeup (PMU)?
Permanent makeup (PMU), also called cosmetic tattooing or micropigmentation, is a procedure where pigment is implanted into the skin to mimic makeup. It enhances brows, eyes and lips, offering a long-lasting solution that reduces the need for daily application.
Is PMU the same as tattooing?
The principle is similar, but PMU uses specialised pigments, shallower implantation and finer equipment designed for natural results.
What is the difference between micropigmentation (PMU) and microblading?
We use a digital machine, which is gentler on the skin and safer for repeated touch-ups. Unlike microblading (which involves cutting the skin with blades), micropigmentation reduces risk of scarring and delivers consistent colour.
How long does PMU last?
Results usually last 1–3 years, depending on your skin type, lifestyle, pigment choice and aftercare. Fading is natural over time and a touch-up every 12–24 months helps maintain colour.
How long does a treatment take?
The first appointment typically takes 2–3 hours (including consultation, mapping, numbing and procedure). Touch-up sessions usually take 1–1.5 hours.
Is PMU painful?
Most clients describe the sensation as mild scratching or tingling. We use strong numbing creams and gels before and during the procedure to keep you comfortable. Sensitivity may be higher during your menstrual cycle.
Is PMU safe?
Yes. Treatments are carried out with sterile, single-use equipment and high-quality pigments by trained professionals. As with any procedure, risks such as infection or allergic reaction exist but are rare, which is why proper consultation and aftercare are essential.

Am I too old? No. PMU can restore definition to fading brows, lips, and eyes at any age.
